What’s your name, job title and what do you do?
Julie France, Sales Director. I sell stuff… basically I sell exhibition space at our events to hotels, venues & destinations.
Why did you decide to do what you do for a living?
I took a leap of faith into the hospitality industry after a long career in media sales and loved the events side of it. Events and hospitality really suit my personality.
What’s been the best project or event you’ve worked on:
The Brit Awards
What’s your biggest niggle about your job/what you do?
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My 8 year old son
If money where no object what would you do?
I’d be married to David Beckham, I’d have a stylist and a nanny and we’d live in the French Alps for half the year and ski a lot, then we’d go to our place in the South West of France to chill and surf. In between I’d travel and I’d dance and sing like no one was watching!
If you could change places with a Rockstar – which one would it be and why?
Ian Brown because The Stone Roses are life!!
What’s your Rockstar rider?
Grey Goose vodka with fresh lime and soda water, Veuve Cliquot yellow label champagne, Marlboro cigarettes, Thai food, Fat Coke, water melon, Jo Malone scented candles and Jo Malone Basil and Neroli perfume
(A rider is a list of items (food, flowers, chocolate etc) that Rock Stars ask to be backstage for them at a gig – it can be fun, sensible or downright silly)
What makes a Rockstar event organiser?
Someone who has all the right contacts in all the right places
What one piece of advice would you give to others?
Treat people the way you want to be treated. Talk to people the way you want to be talked to. Respect is earned not a given.
